Gloria A. Grant-Glover Breland, a retired public school educator of 38 years, served the School Districts of Hampton and Colleton Counties as both a band teacher and a classroom teacher. She earned a Master of Education Degree Plus 30-Hours of graduate credit from South Carolina State College (University) and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Claflin University. She is a Bible scholar, a licensed evangelist, and a member of Sandhill Baptist Church of Walterboro (SC). As a minister of the Gospel, Gloria preaches the Word of God, is a conference speaker, and workshop facilitator.
She is the founder and director of Community Connections Ministries, a Golden Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and a charter member of Walterboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She has a passion for singing and writing. Evangelist Breland is a former recreation league softball coach and Gospel radio DJ. She enjoys a rich, well-rounded life. Her motto is “Serve God wholeheartedly or none at all.” Two favorite Scriptures are “… the Lord saves not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s …” (1 Samuel 17: 47) and “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).
One of Evangelist Breland’s favorite songs, “We’ve Come This Far by Faith,” speaks volumes of this faithful woman of God. This song is a testimony of her Christian journey because she has come this far by faith. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she speaks with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She was married 48 years to the love of her life; the late Willie Breland, Jr., Evangelist Breland is a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and her late husband shared seven children, grandchildren, and great-grands.
