The Promise of Jesus Being Glorified When He Comes

2 Thessalonians 1:6-10 KJV

Paul said, “Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you” (v.6); “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels” (v.7), “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ” (v.8): “Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power” (v.9); “When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day” (v.10).

Paul gloried in the Thessalonian believers’ faith and suffering, assuring them and us that God is just. “For the Lord loves justice; He will not forsake His saints. Thy are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked will be cut off” (Ps. 37:28).

You may face persecution, but God will recompense tribulation to them that trouble you.Romans 12:19 says “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To those who are troubled He offers them rest in the Lord when He comes back with His mighty angels. For those who refuse to accept God and reject the gospel of Jesus Christ will receive the wrath of His vengeance in flaming fire. Those who do not know Him their punishment will be eternal separation from His presence and the glory of His power. Then Paul said that their testimony was believed among the Thessalonians. Therefore, in that day that Jesus comes, He will be glorified and admired because of the faithful living of all His children.
